History
New Millennium Building Systems was founded in 1999 in Butler, Indiana. A second plant began production in 2005 in Lake City, Florida. Both plants have the latest technology and innovations available today. A merger with John W. Hancock, Jr., LLC. and Socar Inc. in 2006 has resulted in a dynamic team of people, equipment and attitude.

Socar, started in 1966, has two plants, one in Continental, Ohio and one in Florence, South Carolina. John W. Hancock, Jr., Inc. was the oldest continuously operating joist company in the United States with the plant in Salem, Virginia. All plants have undergone extensive renovations and upgrades while maintaining their production capacity.

This marriage of history and technology has yielded improved customer service, competitive pricing, expanded product range, and excellent coverage for most of the United States. It allows all five manufacturing plants to pool resources, coordinate efforts, and be the most customer-oriented joist company serving North America.
