NASCC: The Steel Conference April 2-5, 2008
New Millennium Building Systems will once again join the more than 3,000 steel construction professionals who will visit Nashville, Tennessee this April during the 2008 North American Steel Construction Conference. NASCC: The Steel Conference will be held April 2-5, 2008 and is presented by the American, Canadian, and Mexican Institutes of Steel Construction.
With more than 160 exhibitors providing more than 400 booths, the exhibit hall will once again draw structural engineers, steel fabricators, erectors, and detailers.
The conference will be highlighted by the Wednesday, April 2 keynote, “Refabricating Architecture,” by the award-winning architect and author Stephan Kieran. The keynote will center on current productivity and environmental issues that challenge the building industry, and focus on potential reorganization strategies to address them.
Innovative technical sessions will include topics of interest to all steel professionals including the three-part “Introduction to Earthquake Engineering and Seismic Codes;” “Green Design: Beyond Material Issues;” “Constructability and Teamwork;” “Sporting Opportunities: Design, Fabrication and Erection Issues on the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium;” and “Getting Dimensions: Will 3D Modeling Help?”
Continuing its association with the Structural Stability Research Council, The Steel Conference will once again incorporate the Council’s Annual Stability Conference in 2008. Stability Conference sessions are included in full Steel Conference registration, with session topics including the stability of steel members under fire conditions, the stability of curved girder bridges, and more.
