New Millennium has worked with a wide variety of customers to consistently deliver steel joist and metal decking solutions. Here are some notable successes.

Adopting Digital Design at the Supplier End

Until now, steel joist and metal decking supply has been one of the core disciplines yet to participate in BIM-based digital plan development. In addition to meeting an architect’s vision, collaboration during the steel joist and metal decking design phase often brings a chain reaction of cost reductions that benefit the owner, developer, and entire project team. Cost reductions are evident throughout the project and can be realized by the contractor and erector experiences. [more]

New Millennium Puts Derailed Job Back on Track (Literally)

Steve Hubbard thought he had heard every possible excuse for late delivery during his 17 years at Steel Specialties, a Maryland-based steel fabrication and erection company. That’s when Hubbard heard the truck carrying all of his steel joists had been hit by a train. [more]

As an innovative business owner, Mark Bohling has made success his hallmark at fabricator Cavalier Steel. Since buying the company in 2001, he has raised production from 400 tons of steel a year to 4,000 tons – and increased the company’s sales by nearly 600%. [more]

Project Manager Tommy Jackson had originally ordered through another steel joist supplier, but when the drawings came back from approval, there was a problem: the supplier was not able to deliver in three weeks as originally promised. They wanted six weeks for fabrication because they were busier than anticipated and were coming up on their July shutdown. [more]

Fabricator M&S Steel: Specialty Needs and Quick Turnaround

When a fabricator needs delivery of special profile steel joists in 10 days, offering delivery in four weeks does that customer no good. So when Kent York, operations manager at M & S Steel, needed a project completed in 10 days, he turned to New Millennium. [more]
