The New Millennium plant in Butler, Indiana was our first plant, designed and built specifically to manufacture high quality steel joists and deck. It opened in 1999.

Much like its sister plant in Lake City, Florida, the Butler plant continues to focus on the production of unspecialized steel joist and deck. All of the renovations made over the past few years at New Millennium plants positions each of them for increased productivity and efficiency. The changes made at the plants has enabled New Millennium to triple production capacity.

Additionally, Indiana is certified in accordance with the requirements of the current IBC/Michigan Building Code, Chapter 17, Section 1705, Paragraph 2.2

The Lake City plant was the second of the ground-up plants built by New Millennium, and produces standard steel joist and deck. Renovations occurring around the plant’s physical structure and internal approaches to production are slated to yield increasingly higher productivity in the next year. Environmentally friendly efforts throughout the plant on top of efficient production places Lake City in a unique position to contribute to New Millennium’s national efforts.

Additionally, the Florida facility is certified in accordance with the requirements of the current Miami-Dade Building Code, Article IV, Chapter 8 and the current Houston, Texas Building Code, Section 1704.2.2.

In 2007 the Salem facility also underwent a major renovation across the 61-acre property. Smaller offices, tool rooms, electrical and maintenance buildings were replaced with new and renovated structures. The 89,000 square feet of the joist building was expanded with the addition of 65,000 square feet. The old corrugated grey tin siding was replaced by tan metal siding, along with new metal roofing. A new 50,000 square foot deck plant was built, along with a 34,000 square foot slitter building and a 1,800 square foot locker room/cafeteria.
