Our position on overhead expenses for research

For research projects in which students are involved for learning and development, for which the research is expected to advance the body of knowledge for structural design for improved safety, reliability and/or understanding, and for which research results are expected to be published for the benefit of the industry and publicly available for little or no charge (such as in an engineering journal) we take the position that our contribution to research institution indirect costs and overheads should be limited to no more than 25% of the direct cost of the research project. New Millennium may choose to fund grants or gifts at its discretion.
